Letters from Readers
My ex and I have been divorced for five years. He STILL tries to get information about me from my children, and successfully, I might add. It feels to me like he is stalking me. How can I stop this? I have moved on and have a new boyfriend now and I feel like my new relationship has a third party in it.
Dear Being Stalked,I am so sorry you are going through this. It must be very frightening and frustrating. All you want is to live your life and your ex doesn’t seem to want to let go. Actually, the word “seem” is putting it lightly. He WON’T let you go.Being Stalked, there is nothing you can do about his behavior or the information he obtains from your children. Continue to live your life the way you want to, no matter how much he interferes. If he becomes physically abusive or if you notice that he waits outside of your work or your house, then you make a complaint with the police. Your safety is of paramount importance. Contact a local women’s shelter or counseling center in your area and learn a getaway strategy should you need one.I am wishing you the best and please be safe.-Susan
