Finding a good lawyer can feel like a full time job. Lawyers are great about selling their services but, do they really deliver what you need and want? Whether you are still “attorney shopping” or have contracted with one, it is essential to remember that the attorney works for you.
Often times, the client-attorney relationship becomes a child-parent one with the client becoming the child. Always remember that you pay the attorney. They work for you. While this does not give you Carte Blanche to be rude and demanding, you need to remember it so that you to fall into the passive client role with an attorney who takes all your independence and control, regarding your divorce, from you.
So remember – You are the one you pays your attorney. You are the boss!!!
